Winnipeg Jets (15-15-5) at Buffalo Sabres (7-23-3) 6:00 p.m., First Niagra Center TV: TSN Jets, MSG-B Radio: TSN 1290,

The Jets take the ice for the second time in as many nights Tuesday when they face off against the legue worst Buffalo Sabres. The teams have met quite a few times in the last couple years while the Jets were in the Eastern Conference and Winnipeg had a good amount of success. Coming in both teams would say they were dissapointed with their performance so far this year, however, they are both pretty much as predicted. Buffalo is well rested having not played since Saturday, and should give the Jets a good game, especially after a tough fought Winnipeg win last night, anything could happen Tuesday. Lets go!

Simply put the Sabres have been one of the worst teams in recent history. With only 7 wins in 33 tries this season the Sabres have had trouble doing anything positive and seem to be a lock to finish 30th in the league. Buffalo is coming off an overtime loss to the Flames Saturday night and may see this game as an opportunity to bounce back. The Jets are dealing with some injuries and are coming off a hard fought game 24 hrs ago. This will be a good opportunity for the Sabres to pick up a rare two points. The lone bright spot of this team in Ryan Miller. The Olympic hopeful, Miller who has drawn plenty of trade rumors all season has at least kept the Sabres competitive. Without Miller it may be even worse for this team.

It wasn’t always pretty, not a perfect game, not a dominant performance, however the Jets lefo Columbus with a win last night defeating the Blue Jackets 3-2. The Jets never trailed in the game and finally were able to close out a game. Seeing the Jackets close the gap in the third brought back memories for many Jets fans of games they could not finish, however they were able to score themselves and play some stingy D late. The star of the game from Winnipegs standpoint was clearly Evander Kane. After missing the last 6 Kane came in with a ton of energy and although getting banged up a few times in the game helped will the Jets to victory. He got a beautiful assist on Mark Scheifeles game opening goal and then iced the game with a beautiful wrist shot in the third. Winnipeg is coming in on a back to back which has been a bit of a kryptonite for this team, but they hope they can get a bit of a streak going and pick up a win.

Keys to the Game

Take Advantage: The Sabres winning has been an incredibly rare event this year. The Jets cannot let fatigue be a factor, they need to play smart and take advantage of their opponent.

Discipline: The Jets cannot afford to be in the box, after playing last night they need to conserve energy, and playing on the PK will be an even bigger disadvantage than normal.

Pavvy: The Sabres do not have a lot of goal scoring power, Pavelec must be good and the JEts can not afford any bad goals.
