After an impressive 19-8-4-1 start, the IceCaps look to continue their impressive inaugural season in the new year.
Here some news and notes from the IceCaps (As of 04/01/12):
- Head Coach of the St. John’s IceCaps Keith McCambridge has earned the right to coach the Eastern Conference team at the 2012 AHL All-Star Classic, Jan. 29-30 in Atlantic City, N.J.
- IceCaps defencemen Paul Postma and Zach Redmond have been named to the Eastern Conference Team, along with McCambridge.
- Postma, 22, is third in defencemen scoring with 25 PTS (6G, 19A) in 26GP
- Redmond, 23, has played all 32 games for the IceCaps, recording 15 PTS (4G, 11A)
- Vote Redmond and Postma as starters for the Classic, and your favorites from the full 2012 AHL All-Star Classic Rosters available here.
- St. John’s had never lost in regulation away until Jan. 1st against the Marlies, after 15 games, one away from the AHL record.
- D Jake Marto was reassigned to the Colorado Eagles, the IceCaps affiliate.
- In a surprising event, G Peter Mannino was assigned to the Chicago Express of the ECHL.
