Saluting the Captain

Ottawa, ON – The tradition began in the regular season, however made more impact in the post-season. At the 11:11 of each period fans would countdown from ten and at the 11-minute mark chant “Alfie, Alfie, Alfie” in honour of then Senators captain Daniel Alfredsson.

On November 30, 2013 when Alfredsson returned to Ottawa the fans attempted the salute again with mixed results since he was now on the visiting team Detroit Red Wings roster.
