Jets Official Mobile App has arrived

20120314-062714.jpgThe Winnipeg Jets will hold a press conference to announce the release of their official mobile app by MTS today at 9:30. The good news for Jets fans is the wait is finally over and while it took a while it is a pretty good mobile app.

While most of the features are the same as the NHL Gamecenter mobile app, there are some unique features. My favorite and likely to be the favorite for many Jets fans is the decibel meter to see just how loud the MTS Centre can get.

Jets fans can also tweet directly from the app and see their tweets with other fans in the news section under the social tab. The News, videos and photos are easy to use but as mentioned no different then the NHL Gamecenter app.

The feature screen that allows you to add your favorite Jet to track their progress is a nice touch as well. You can download the app in iTunes, Blackberry and Android Market already so check it out and let us know what you think.

“Powered by MTS, the Official Winnipeg Jets app is free and will be available to users across Apple, BlackBerry, and Android platforms.  The app features a variety of content designed to help Jets fans keep up-to-date with their favourite team.

The Jets app provides immediate access to a huge amount of Winnipeg Jets content that fans will have at their fingertips, on eligible devices, from virtually any location.  The Jets app will include live scores, player bios, stats, league standings, Jets photos, content from, content from Jets TV as well as Facebook, Twitter and fan blog updates.

The free app can be downloaded from Apple’s iTunes Store, and will be available soon at RIM’s App World, and Google’s Android Marketplace.”
