Asking the tough questions

Thanks to some nice people at the Calgary Flames organization, we have a chance this Tuesday to interview some Flames and Canucks players as they open up the pre-season. Since we’re all about the Winnipeg Jets, you can be assured our questions will be tailored to inquire about the impact of the Jets returning…or at least related to the Jets.

What we want to know from you is what you would ask a player from the Flames or Canucks? Of course you get bonus points if it some how ties in the Jets too.

In order to help give a little extra incentive for you to leave a comment with a question or two, we’ll be giving away an autographed copy of our upcoming fan documentary, JET FUEL on DVD. All you have to do is leave your question in the comments below. If we select your question you’ll be entered to win automatically. Of course, if we only select one then you win!

So what are you waiting for? Ask your Jets question to a Flames or Canucks player now.

Random draw from all selected questions will take place on Wednesday, September 21, 2011 at 10:00CT. Void where prohibited by law.

I would like to ask the Flames or the Canucks if they are looking forward to come to Winnipeg when it is -50 to play against the Winnipeg Jets! Do they have warm enough clothes? Think they can handle it?
Also, everyone knows Winnipeg has the greatest fans in the world, How do they feel that they will be drowned out by fans screaming at home games, possibly even at away games?!
And lastly, Are they also prepared to lose against the newest NHL team?

If speaking with a veteran player; I’d like to ask what they remember about playing the Jets “back in the day”, or impressions of Winnipeg as a hockey town in general.

If interviewing a younger player I’d rather hear about their perspective on the new Jets 2.0 ramp up and I’d really like to see some emphasis on Canada regaining another hockey team and Canadian Hockey in general.

My question to a Canucks or Flames player would be “With the long awaited return of the Winnipeg Jets, are you happy to have another team back in the NHL representing Canada?

If I were talking to a former Manitoba Moose, current Canuck (Burrows, Kesler etc.) I would ask them about their experience with the fans, the organization and the city during their time here in the minors and also ask what they expect from the crowd the first time they play at the MTS Centre (the same environment as a Moose crowd? or Bigger and louder?)
