WinnipegWhiteOut.com selects annual charity partner
WINNIPEG, Manitoba (July 19, 2011) – Believe in the Goal has been chosen as the charity of choice by WinnipegWhiteOut.com founders.
“We’re excited to partner with such a unique organization and event,” stated Marshall Stevenson, co-founder of the WinnipegWhiteOut.com website. “It’s hockey themed and helps cancer patients; a cause very close to my heart.” Stevenson lost a younger brother to cancer in 1985; his brother was just two.
“We hope that we can help raise awareness of the event, the cause and this nasty disease that always seems to take the ones we love,” said Jeff Stevenson, co-founder and cousin toMarshall.
The partnership starts today with a small, $500 donation to the charity with plans to raise awareness and additional funds through various activities throughout the year, including the WhiteOut Road Trip this upcoming October.
This August 11 marks the sixth annual event where NHL players such as 2010StanleyCup Champion & Playoff MVP Jonathan Toews faceoff in a charity hockey game. To date, Believe has raised over $300,000 for the cause.
