Winnipeg Jets Logo and Jersey Concepts

While the team or team may not be called the Jets, we’ve taken the time to design a logo and set of jerseys to bring some history while giving it a newer look. The logo we designed utilizes the original JETS text from the first logos in the WHA and NHL, it also takes the concept of a white or blue Jet outline over a red object. The last bit we took was the font style used for WINNIPEG from the last Jets logo in the NHL. The new twist we used was instead of the Jet outline being over a red circle we’ve used a red outline of the province of Manitoba as a nice way to tie in the whole province without having to change the name.

The Secondary logo is basically just an enlargement of the Red Manitoba outline and Jet outline that can be used on the shoulders of the main jerseys and the main crest on the alternate design.

The 3rd or alternative jersey also features different cresting on the shoulders. I took the old school JETS text and mixed it with WINNIPEG from the 90′s to create a very simple text only crest for the old school look.

The home and away jerseys also tie in past history while giving a modern day appeal to them, featuring the solid stripe from sleeve to sleeve going over the shoulders, the modern day tweak is in the trim that stylizes it leaving a small gap between the solid white/blue stripe before the thin red pin stripe. Instead of traditional stripes across the bottom of the jersey this new look has side panels instead. The numbers are also tri-colored instead of the one solid colour utilizing red, white and blue.

The 3rd or alternative jersey design really goes back to the past replicating the old WHA style jersey that was worn for one season with the white shoulders on the blue design and simple red and white stripes. The modernization of this look comes with the new crest that uses the alternative logo above with the red Manitoba outline and white Jet outline, while the Winnipeg Jets text from the main logo is used on the shoulders.

The old old jets logo wordmark makes this design look extremely dated.

My only thoughts are maybe that it’s more about a winning team. Like “Win In Peg” you know?

    He’s fixing it now ;)

Thanks for the spelling catch, it’s fixed and just uploadeing corrected spelling now

Not really that good. Too complex. MB with jet too busy. Odd x height on the word Jets. Winnipeg awkwardly placed. Sorry.

    • Jd The Super Fox

Meant cap height not x height.

I like the idea, but the main logo with Jets and WInnipeg on there seems too busy/complex; I do like the jet superimposed on Manitoba, though. At the very least, if not a main logo, it would be an awesome shoulder logo.

    I like that, that’s a good idea

I LOVE these designs! I’m a Leafs fan (please have pity on me) but I would buy one of these sweaters if they were produced. Excellent job.

Not bad, but I’d prefer to see an aircraft the RCAF has used, or a jet historically significant to Winnipeg and Manitoba. That looks to be the silhouette of an F-14 Tomcat, which, to my knowledge, the RCAF has never flown. But, I know a logo/mascot doesn’t need to be entirely accurate. Good effort.

It’s an F-111 but either way, you’re right. I think a silhouette of an CF-104 Starfighter would look awesome

Who cares what the logo and sweater look like!!!!  Be thankful NHL HOCKEY is back in WINNIPEG!!!!! :)

I’d say if you wanted to put a jet in the logo, use a Canadian one
