“If you can play, you can play.” Truer words have never been spoken and now the You Can Play Project has three more Canadian based players taking the message public.
Vancouver Canucks’ Ryan Kesler is joined by two Winnipeg Jets players – Dustin Byfuglien and Tanner Glass – to speak out about any homophobia that may exist in the NHL.
It’s really no surprise that Glass hopped on board. In an article from the Winnipeg Sun last March Glass is quoted as saying, “the language has got to be the first thing to go. You hear it all the time.”
Today, You Can Play launched a new PSA featuring the three athletes. We want you to know, that we’re behind this initiative one-hundred percent at WinnipegWhiteout.com and hope to see more people come on board.
What are your thoughts on seeing these tough guys in a PSA about gay athletes? What effect do you think an openly gay athlete in the NHL, or any other league, would have? We agree with YCP…if you can play, you can play.
