It all makes sense now. Out of all the 29 NHL teams (not including Winnipeg of course), Montreal was the only official site to put up a story welcoming back Winnipeg to the NHL.
There are numerous sources on Twitter stating that the Winnipeg home opener will be against Montreal on Sunday, October 9. We’re still awaiting official word when the schedule is released tomorrow.
