The Tuscon Citizen is reporting that a source at the NHL says the Phoenix Coyotes home opener will be against the Winnipeg franchise on October 15. There’s no confirmation yet as the league has yet to release the schedule, however it’s expected to be released tomorrow.
We speculated that the schedule would be released today, but with the NHL Awards going on in Las Vegas, it makes sense to wait a day. It will definitely be interesting to see the schedule come out and only have Winnipeg listed as the team name, with no logo.

UPDATE: The Phoenix Coyotes website is not only reporting the 2011-12 NHL Season Schedule will be released tomorrow, they’re also confirming the home opener against Winnipeg.
