If you haven’t already seen the pictures of Winnipeg Jets back up goalie Chris Mason, the image above is the real deal. Already with one of the coolest masks in the league, Mason will no doubt take the cake for best pads once he gets a chance to debut these puppies.

We’ll have to wait until his next start, which could likely be in one of the back-to-back games right before Christmas. The pads still need league approval before they can be used as well.

What we want to know is what do you think of the pads? Should designs such as this be allowed or is it going overboard?
