As a young kid I remember when hockey cards were all the rage. I needed to have Gretzky and Lemieux in my collection. I would deliver the Winnipeg Free Press on -40 days in two feet of snow to ensure I had money to buy packs when they came out. That was a long time ago, but hockey cards are still being produced. In fact there’s a whole day dedicated to the celebration, and that day is this Saturday, February 9 – once again Upper Deck’s National Hockey Card Day strikes! In fact it’s the fifth year of the annual celebration. Last year was an overwhelming success, so there’s no reason not to do it again this year.
Hockey fans can score FREE Upper Deck National Hockey Card Day packs at participating hobby retailers this Saturday, February 9 throughout Canada. Also, Toys “R” Us and London Drugs will be participating in the promotion. UD will also be sampling these packs through the Hockey Hall-of-Fame in Toronto, the Richmond Celebrates Hockey Day show in BC and Winnipeg Jets game on Tuesday, February 12 when they host the Philadelphia Flyers.
In other words, you’ll want to arrive early for the 7:00 game as there’s a limited supply of the cards.
